On this particular project, the steep slope behind this building, and limited drainage space was creating quite an issue for water dispersal.  To make matters worse, the soil was well on the way to being hydrophobic, meaning that the water was unable to absorb into the surrounding areas and would all pool at the base of the building.

Hunter Civil and Maintenance were able to clean up the area and install suitable terraced drainage.  Large amounts of the overland flow are now absorbed on the way down the hill, limiting the volume to arrive at the base of the hill.  We also cleaned out the old drainage trench, installed the correct aggregate, replaced the deteriorating ag pipe with a new one, and ensured the sock was in place to minimise the risk of the drain backing up due to silt.

Not only do the neat new terraces provide a superior drainage solution, they also created a visually appealing and usable space.
